During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people using the service at The Dental Practice at Dronfield Woodhouse. People were positive about the service. One person told us they had chosen to use the service because staff were, 'Professional but friendly'. Another person told us the dentist was, 'So good with children, they're not at all worried about coming here'.

People told us their treatment had been explained to them and we saw records that confirmed this. One person said, 'They make sure you're alright with it before they do anything'.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that ensured people's safety and welfare. We found that people's medical and dental history was recorded and taken into account in planning their treatment. We saw that there were suitable arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies.

People were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment. There were appropriate policies, procedures and systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.

We found that staff received appropriate training and were supported in their continuing professional development.

We found that records were accurate and up to date and were kept securely.
