We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 6 January 2026.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
Leadership and communication were not always effective.
The practice did not follow their policy to review and investigate incidents and accidents.
The practice did not have effective systems to identify and manage risks for radiation and laser protection, fire safety, Legionella and hazardous waste.
There was no evidence that audits of radiography or infection prevention and control were carried out at the specified intervals.
There was no evidence of a current system for receiving and acting on safety alerts.
However, staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles, including infection prevention and control. Staff carried out appropriate training at the required intervals.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The provider has 3 practices, in Wakefield, Sheffield and Stockport. This practice is in Sheffield and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and a car park with dedicated parking for disabled people.
The practice had 6 treatment rooms. During the course of our inspection process, we were not advised of the total number of staff working at the location. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 3 dentists (one of whom was the practice owner), 5 dental nurses, 1 dental therapist, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
The provider was not complying with Regulation 17 Good Governance. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
