During a routine inspection
We spoke with two patients and observed a number of others to gain patients' experiences during our visit.
Patients' told us they were treated with respect and dignity when visiting the practice. One patient said, 'The dentist and dental nurses are brilliant.' They said all consultations took place in private. Staff told us there was a room made available if a patient wished to discuss anything in private relating to their appointment or treatment.
Patients were offered treatment relevant to their needs and were always able to make informed decision around the choices they were offered.
We saw information, which promoted good oral hygiene was made available in the waiting area for patients use. This included leaflets on dietary advice, how you can keep your teeth healthy and information regarding the practices in the form of a practice user guide. There was also guidance on how to access the practice website and the Patient Advice and Liaison Service. (PALS provide people with information about the NHS and help them with any other health-related enquiry.)
There was appropriate access for patients with disabilities and a surgery was available on the ground floor for patients who had difficulty climbing stairs as the practice was on two floors.
