Our current view of the service

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 25 June 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Infection control procedures in place were effective.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Market Street Dental Practice is in Ashby De La Zouch and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 5 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 19 staff, of which there were 5 dentists, 7 dental nurses (including 3 trainee dental nurses), 3 dental hygienists, 3 receptionists and the practice manager. We gathered feedback and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 3 dentists, 7 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 17 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included, “Always provide an excellent and friendly service” and “Great service all round, incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Professional service and behaviours.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Comments included, “Absolutely excellent staff and service. So kind and friendly. I've had a few emergency appointments and they've got me in straight the way. Reception staff are so kind and helpful.”
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Comments included, “Been attending this practice for some time now. Staff are always professional polite. Have been seen promptly for emergency treatment on a couple of occasions which is very reassuring. Have always been pleased with the treatment I have received. Options on treatment have always been fully explained to allow me to make the appropriate choice.”
Patients told us that when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. Comments included, “Friendly and welcoming. Reassuring during examinations and treatment. Take individual concerns seriously and adjust treatment to help put you at ease. Informative - advising products and methods to help improve dental hygiene.”
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
