During a routine inspection

We spoke with four patients in the practice in private and three patients by telephone following our visit to the service. People were very complimentary about the quality of the service provided at the practice. One patient told us "My dentist is excellent. He has a lovely touch and is very professional and competent'. Another said "Cannot fault the service. I have been coming here for many years and would not dream of going anywhere else'. People told us they had been visiting the practice for years and that other family members also saw the dentists in the practice. One person told us that they knew and trusted all the staff. We were told that the dentists fully explained treatment options in a way people could understand and explained the various costs involved.

We saw the provider sought consent for treatment when complex treatment plans were proposed. Records for people who used the services were up-to-date and stored electronically. Signed medical history information was scanned into the computer system. The premises were clean and well organised and staff routinely followed infection control procedures when carrying out treatments. Staff received appropriate training to enhance their knowledge and skills and to keep them up-to-date. The practice had a complaints procedure and people felt they would be listened to if they raised a concern or had a complaint about the services provided.
