Archived: Kimberley Park Dental Practice

We carried an unannounced inspection on the practice following the scheduled inspection in June 2013 when a compliance action had been set regarding infection control procedures at the practice.

We spoke with the practice manager, the principle dentist and observed infection control procedures at the practice. We were satisfied the practice had amended their infection control policy and procedures to align themselves with the requirements of the Department of Health, 'Decontamination Health Technical Memorandum 01-05: Decontamination in primary care dental practices'.

People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

People were not protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had not been followed.

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.
