During a routine inspection

We spoke with five patients who confirmed they were always given sufficient information before consenting to their treatment. One person said; '[The dentist] always explains everything well, before and during treatment'. Patients were given written, personalised information which they signed to indicate they were happy with the treatment plan and associated costs.

Patients' needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. All the patients we spoke with were all aware of the checks the dentist had made at their examination. One person said; '[The dentist] looks at my whole mouth and explains everything fully'.

All the patients we spoke with told us they were very satisfied with the standard of treatment provided. One person told us: 'I have suggested to a lot of people to come here, several of my friends, whole families'. Another person was complimentary about the treatment they received from the practice and the advice they had been given to keep their mouth healthy.

During our visit we spoke with all the staff at the practice who were all able to demonstrate their awareness of the safe practices required to meet the essential standards of Department of Health guidance.

The practice carried out a number of audits of their service each year. This meant the provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that patients received.

During a routine inspection

People that used the dental practice told us that they were very happy with the service provided. They felt they were given plenty of information about their treatment and it was always explained really well to them. They could ask any questions and were given enough time to do this. One person was happy with the care and treatment they received that they had recommended the dentist to their neighbour. We were told that the staff were very friendly and that they were always treated respectfully.
