All Inspections

3 July 2013

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We found that the provider had taken steps to safeguard people from the risk of abuse.

Staff had been enrolled on Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults training courses provided by the Barts Health NHS Trust.

Staff we spoke with were able to describe the different types of abuse they may come across during their work with people using the service.

14 February 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people following our visit and they said they were happy with their care and treatment. One person said "This is a very good service. Even though I have stopped smoking they still support me when I need them."

People we spoke with said they had recommended the service to friends in their community who were also finding the service a successful way to stop using tobacco.

Staff we spoke with told us they were able to arrange visits in peoples homes or at the service and were able to communicate well with people because staff spoke both English and Bengali.

Staff had attended various training courses relating to tobacco cessation but were unsure how to access the providers written policy and guidance on local safeguarding procedures.

Staff were trained to level 3 of the National Smoking Cessation Training. People we spoke with said they thought the staff were knowledgeable and gave them the correct advice.
