Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

Patients told us they found the staff to be helpful and caring, especially the prescribers.

Staff understood the needs of their patients and supported their needs. Staff were aware that some patients had been waiting a long time for an assessment and could be frustrated. Staff took this into account and reassured patients during calls at times to suit their routines and obligations.

The service offered online appointments to patients on week days and weekends at a time that worked best for the patient.

Independence, choice and control

Score: 3

Patients told us they were satisfied with recommendations and treatments prescribed. However, some patients told us they did not always feel included in decisions about their care or options for medication.

Responding to people’s immediate needs

Score: 3

Staff developed a comprehensive care plan for each patient that met their mental and physical health needs. Staff regularly reviewed and updated care plans when patients' needs changed.

Staff used the AI risk screening tools to monitor changes to peoples risks profile. We saw evidence that when patient risk became too high to manage safely within the service, the patient was signposted to more appropriate services for support.

Workforce wellbeing and enablement

Score: 3

The service invested in staff wellbeing and engagement. The service actively encouraged staff feedback by holding focus groups which opened dialog with front line staff and leadership colleagues, and they held annual staff surveys.

Staff morale was good. There was a sense of shared values and vision amongst all staff at the service.
