Date of assessment 1st April 2026.
This is the first assessment for this newly registered service.
Cleveland Villa is a residential care home registered to provide support to one person living with a learning disability and/or mental health condition.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture.’ This guidance supported judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability or mental health condition respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the provider delivered care in line with those standards.
We found people living at Cleveland Villa were treated with compassion, and their dignity was consistently upheld. Respectful and safe support was observed in communal areas. People’s support plans were personalised and reflected how they chose to spend their time, including their individual wishes, preferences, and choices.
People and their relatives were actively involved in assessing their needs. Staff took account of communication preferences to ensure meaningful engagement with people at all times.
The provider was easy to contact and worked to prevent discrimination. People were treated fairly and equally. Staff had received relevant training and used inclusive practices to ensure people’s care was consistent. People were supported to make informed decisions about their care. Where restrictions on people’s liberty were in place, these were assessed and discussed with family and professionals.
Professional partners provided positive feedback, highlighting how people had progressed significantly since being supported by the provider.
