We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 16 October 2025.
We found the practice had met all regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Blue Sky Dental is in Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, Essex and provides private specialist dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice accepts a range of oral health specialisms referred into the practice which include Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Sedation and Implants. There is a smaller sister practice in Chelmsford called Blue Sky Dental, also known as Chelmsford Dental, Baddow Road, Chelmsford.
This report reviews our findings from our inspection of Blue Sky Dental, Moulsham Street, Chelmsford.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 6 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 33 staff, of which there were 1 oral surgeon, 1 orthodontist, 1 endodontist, 2 periodontists, 5 prosthodontists, 9 dental nurses including 1 trainee dental nurse, 4 hygienists, 1 treatment coordinator, 6 receptionists, 1 support staff and 2 practice managers. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 prosthodontists, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 3 receptionists and 2 practice managers.
