During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: 19 November to 2 December 2025. Malvern Nursing Home is a nursing home providing support to 22 people. The service supported older people, younger people and people living with mental health conditions. There were 21 people living at the service at the time of the assessment.
Since our last inspection in 2018 the provider for this service has changed. This was the first assessment of the service, and we reviewed all key questions and quality statements. We rated the service good.
Systems and processes were in place for governance and to maintain oversight of the service. However, these were not robust. Medicines were not managed safely. Improvements were required to the Environment. Fire safety and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) were a concern.
The registered manager responded swiftly when these concerns were brought to their attention.
Malvern Nursing Home had a committed and inclusive staff team. They understood their roles in safeguarding people if they had a concern. They promoted equality, diversity, and inclusion in their daily practice, ensuring everyone was treated with dignity and respect regardless of background, culture, or personal identity.
People were treated with kindness and respect. We observed staff interacting with people and they were caring. People had access to meaningful activities and took part in social interests.
The provider worked in partnership with other organisations including community groups, to meet people’s needs.
