Date of assessment: 12 May 2026 to 2 June 2026.

This assessment was the first inspection of Sahara Avenue’s Ltd.

Sahara Avenue’s Ltd is a Domiciliary Care Agency providing personal care and support to people living in their own homes. The provider supported older and younger adults. At the time of the assessment, there was 1 person being supported with personal care.

The provider had policies and procedures in place to underpin the operations of the service. The registered manager understood the recruitment process and explained how they would follow the processes, to ensure the recruitment of staff was safe. The registered manager who was also the nominated individual was the only person employed at the service.

The provider was clear on safeguarding processes and told us any concerns would be reported to the appropriate safeguarding body.

Risks to the person were assessed and actions to reduce the risk of falling and malnutrition had been identified and were regularly monitored.

No accidents or incidents had occurred at the time of the inspection, and the provider had processes in place to document any concerns.

The provider understood the importance of assessing people’s capacity and was aware of what action they should take, should a person lack the capacity to make a decision.

Assessments of the persons needs were fully completed and were reviewed to ensure they remained accurate. Assessments captured the support, the person required to stay well.

End of life care planning was available, and the registered manager had received training to support quality end of life care.

Governance processes were in place to assist in identifying area’s where the provider could improve.

People's experience of the service

The provider had used translation apps to communicate effectively with a person they supported.

The provider worked with the person and their family to ensure care records were accurately reflective of the person’s needs.

Feedback from a family member was positive and they spoke positively about the registered manager and the relationship they had with their relation.

Care and support were provided at a time suitable to the person and we were told, the individual received person-centred care in a caring and dignified manner.

Feedback from previous people who had used the service had been positive.
