During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We received evidence from the provider which demonstrated that staff received training in some areas since the last inspection visit in October 2012. Refresher training in some areas was planned to take place during January 2013. This showed safe working practices were being maintained by staff, when delivering care and support to people who use the service.

Inspection carried out on 10 October 2012

During a routine inspection

One person told us that they had initially come to stay at the home for respite care and then decided to stay permanently. This person told us that staff were always available to them when needed and confirmed that they got on well with the staff.

Another person told us they were very happy with the support they received from the staff team. They said,�the staff are very nice; there is always someone around if you need them.�

Visitors spoke highly of the commitment of staff in meeting people�s need and said they were happy with the care their family member received. Comments from visitors included "on the whole staff are good, cannot say anything negative about them" and "staff are wonderful".

People spoken with told us that they enjoyed the meals and confirmed there were plenty of choices available.

People confirmed that they were able to choose the time they went to bed and the time they got up in the morning.

One person told us that entertainment was provided at the home, they said, �people come in to entertain us, like singers, I always join in.�

Visitors we spoke with said they were happy with the care and services their relatives received, and were involved in their care and reviews.
