Our view of the service
Date of assessment Tuesday 10 to 30 June 2025
The Forward Trust provides The Bridges which is a residential substance misuse service. At the time of the assessment, the service provided residential rehab in Hull for people who had issues with drugs and/or alcohol. Following the move to the new site in 2023, the service extended their treatment offer to female clients aged over 18. They welcomed clients from community, custody and private settings.
The service had 19 beds, 10 male and 9 females beds situated on separate corridors. At the time of our assessment, the service had 12 people admitted. The Bridges, Hull provided a two-stage treatment model, each 12 weeks long and centered upon the 12-Steps (The-12 Steps are a set of guiding principles and actions developed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) to help individuals recover from addiction), which clients journeyed through during their time in the program. At the time of our assessment the service supported 11 clients completing stage 1 and 1 client on stage 2 which built on the work done in stage 1 and was focused on empowering the person to re-engage with the community.
We rated the service as good. The service was previously unrated. The service environment was safe and clean. Staff assessed and mitigated risks and holistic care plans guided treatment and recovery. People were supported to have choice and control and were involved in planning their care. The provider had enough qualified staff to ensure people’s needs were met.
