Our view of the service

Urgent Care 24/7 Ltd provides ultrasound scanning services under contract to the local Integrated Care Board (ICB) across 8 GP practices. In the 6 months preceding our assessment, the service conducted 428 ultrasound scans for both NHS and private patients. The scans included musculoskeletal (MSK), gynaecological and double-area examinations, providing structured, non-invasive assessment of two or more anatomical regions during a single appointment.

We carried out a focused assessment of this service on 3 and 4 June 2026 following information of concern received by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The assessment was unannounced and focused on areas relevant to the information we received. Due to the reduced number of quality statements within the Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led domains there was insufficient evidence to award a rating.

This was the first assessment of the service undertaken by the CQC. At this assessment we identified one breach of regulations in relation Regulation 17 Good Governance.
