During a routine inspection
People told us that the service was "good" and that they were "very satisfied" with it. Appropriate risks assessments were undertaken when people started using the service and details were taken about their medical and social needs. These were used to draw up specific care plans. The service had policies and procedures for what to do in emergencies which staff were aware of.
Staff received annual training in safeguarding adults and were able to tell us about the signs of possible abuse and how to report them appropriately (including to the local authority). People told us that they felt "safe" around staff and when receiving services.
Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work, which included their right to work in the UK and with the Criminal Records Bureau. All prospective staff were interviewed about their experience of and approach to providing care and support.
The service had a procedure for handling complaints including their investigation and resolution. People told us that they would be happy to raise any concerns they had with the service.
