During a themed inspection looking at Learning Disability Services

All of the people that we spoke with were able to verbally communicate with us. Patients were generally positive about the support they received from the staff team. Patients told us that they felt safe on the ward and told us they were able to speak to the staff if they had any concerns. One patient told us, 'This is the only place I've been where they are helping me. They help you to think before you act'.

Discussions with patients confirmed that they were supported to voice their opinions and have their say on improvements or changes on the ward. One person told us that the patients have a meeting every Friday where they get a chance to talk about anything they are not happy about and they get to share some information with each other. This patient told us 'we all have a chance to talk, we all have a turn, if there are suggestions they get sorted out'.
