All inspections: Carewatch (Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre)

During the inspection we looked at care and staff training records, staff supervision arrangements, the services safeguarding procedures and quality monitoring arrangements. We did this because we wanted to identify that appropriate arrangements were in place to support staff members. We also wanted to ensure people were safe and supported by trained staff.

We spoke with a number of people being supported by the agency. They told us they were receiving safe and appropriate care which was meeting their needs. They said the staff members visiting them were polite, reliable and very professional when undertaking their work. One person said, 'I have the same girl supporting me all the time and I think she is brilliant. I have a wonderful relationship with her. I trust her completely'. Another person said, 'I always have the same group of carers which I find very reassuring. They are very reliable and I get on well with them all'.

During our inspection we contacted the Blackpool contracts monitoring team. They told us they currently had no concerns with the service being provided by the agency.

During our inspection we looked at care and staff recruitment records. We did this to confirm people were being well supported and staff members had been recruited properly. We also spoke with people being supported by the agency and interviewed some staff members. The people we spoke with said they were receiving safe and appropriate care which was meeting their needs. They told us the staff visiting them were polite, reliable and very professional when undertaking their work.

We also spoke with Blackpool council contracts monitoring team. They told us they hadn't identified any concerns with the service during their recent visits.

"We sat down and discussed the support I required. The whole process was very thorough and professional. I was very impressed with the way they conducted themselves".

They have never let me down. Always arrive on time and stay for the amount of time I have been allocated".

"I always have the same group of carers. They are very kind and patient girls. Always friendly and have a lovely smile for me. I really don't know what I would do without them".

"Never had cause to complain. Couldn't find fault with them if I tried. They provide an excellent service in my opinion".

People told us they had received a visit from a representative from the agency before the service commenced to discuss their needs and they had agreed to the support to be provided.

People told us they are fully involved in decision making regarding their care.

"We received a visit from the agency before the service commenced and they discussed my husband's needs with me and the care they could provide. I was very impressed with how professional they were and how they involved me in developing his care plan. The girls always talk to me about my husband's care when they visit and make me feel involved. I am very grateful for their help'.

'The girls who support me are always punctual and have never let me down. I have no concerns or complaints about the service I am receiving. They look after me very well'.

'The carers who visit my husband are my life support. They are wonderful I am so impressed with his care'.

'The carers who visit me are exceptional. I cannot speak highly enough of them'.
