Caring
This means we looked for evidence that the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
This was the first assessment of this service. We rated caring as good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect and were involved as partners in their care.
Staff treated people with kindness and respect and demonstrated a good understanding of their individual needs and preferences. We observed positive interactions between staff and people using the service. People and carers described staff as caring, professional and responsive.
Staff supported people to make choices, participate in meaningful activities and maintain links with their families and communities. Care was adapted to people’s communication, functional and support needs, and advocacy was available where people required independent support.
Staff felt committed to providing person-centred care and described positive working relationships.
