During an assessment under our new approach

The inspection of Harlow Hall took place on 17 March 2025. The inspection took place in part due to concerns raised regarding people’s safety. We did not find evidence that people were at risk from these concerns and the provider had taken action to minimise risks going forward. Harlow Hall is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 66 people. At the time of our inspection there were 51 people living at the home.

Risks to people’s safety and wellbeing were managed well although this was not always recorded in people’s care records. Accidents and incidents were also recorded and reviewed to minimise the risk of them happening again. Whilst changes had been made due to patterns of concerns emerging from incidents, theses were not routinely reviewed to identify any trends. Safeguarding concerns were reported in line with requirements and staff were aware of their responsibilities in keeping people safe. Safe systems were in place to manage maintenance and infection prevention and control. Staff received training and a detailed induction when joining the provider. They felt this, along with regular supervision, supported them in their roles. Audit systems were in place to review the care people received and monitor the systems within the service. Where concerns were identified, action was taken to make improvements. There was a strong management presence within the service, with additional support provided from the regional and quality teams.
