During an assessment under our new approach
Date of Assessment: 11 November to 11 December 2025. The service is a care at home service registered to provide support to older people and younger adults. At the time of inspection there were 13 people using the service and all were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. This was the first rated inspection of the service.
A registered manager was in place, who was registered with the Commission and is legally responsible to ensure that the service is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
There were enough staff with the necessary skills, qualifications and experience. However, improvements were needed to roster management and communication to ensure people and staff were kept informed of any changes. People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. Staff knew the care and support needs of people they supported, but improvements were needed to care records to ensure all staff had guidance to provide support in the way the person needed and wanted. People’s care records and medicines records did not always provide guidance to ensure people received safe and person-centred care. Systems were in place to ensure people were kept safe and protected from the risk of harm and abuse. However, improvements were needed to care records and the management of risk to ensure people’s safety. People had access to healthcare and support when they needed it. Most systems were effective and in place to protect people and ensure their safety. However, some improvements were needed to staff recruitment, risk management, care records and medicine management to ensure people received safe and person-centred care. Systems were in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service. However, some improvements were identified to governance and record keeping.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
