People's experience of this service

People and their relatives were positive about the quality of their care. They felt safe and were involved in planning their care and understood their rights. Relatives said their family members received good quality care from knowledgeable staff.

Comments from people and their relatives included, “It is a good home”, “I feel safe and the staff look after us well.” Several people described how staff treated them kindly and made sure any personal care was done sensitively, preserving their privacy and dignity. They also said the service provided interesting activities to keep people physically and mentally active.

Some people could not directly tell us about their experience. We used a structured observation tool to assess whether they received good care. This approach showed people were included and listened to and staff consistently interacted positively with them.

The chef told us how they supported people’s dietary needs by talking with them and created appropriate menus for them. People felt able to complain and were confident action would be taken and improvements would be made. People knew staff and leaders well. One person told us, “I know all of the staff, they are lovely.”
