Date of Assessment: 1 June 2026 to 30 June 2026. An inspector and a regulatory coordinator carried out an unannounced site visit on 10 June 2026.
Bennett House is a care home providing accommodation for people who require assistance with personal care. The service can accommodate up to 45 younger adults and older people, some of whom may be living with dementia, mental health problems, sensory impairment or a physical disability. At the time of this assessment 42 people were using the service.

The provider had a good learning culture where people, relatives and staff felt confident in raising concerns. People were protected and kept safe from harm or abuse. Staff had been recruited safely and there were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience to support people. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to carry out their role effectively. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes. People were involved in planning and reviewing the support they needed. Staff worked with other agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving between services. Leaders and staff had a shared vision and culture based on listening, learning and trust. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities. There were audits and checks in place which were effective in identifying shortfalls and driving improvements.

People and their relatives were positive about the management, staff team and quality of the care provided. People felt safe and knew how to raise any concerns they might have. People were supported to see health and social care professionals when needed. There was a varied programme of activities and choice of meals for people. People were treated with respect and were supported by staff who were recruited safely and who were effectively trained and supported in their role.
