Updated 27 May 2025
Date of assessment: 23 June 2025 to 8 July 2025. We visited the service unannounced on 25 June 2025 and announced on 26 June 2025.
This inspection was carried out to review the quality of care and compliance with legal regulations. At the last inspection the service was in breach of regulations relating to person-centred care, dignity and respect, safe care and treatment, premises and equipment, governance, and staffing. At this inspection the service had improved and was no longer in breach of these regulations.
Substantial improvements had been made to all areas of the service. The registered manager and nominated individual (responsible for supervising the management of theservice) worked full-time at the service and were actively involved in all aspects of how it was run. A staff member said, “I have seen this home turnaround under the new leadership. They have put the hours in to make this home a success."
People received safe, dignified, care and support from well-trained, knowledgeable staff. There were always enough staff on duty to promptly meet people’s needs. Risks to people were understood and managed effectively to reduce the likelihood of harm. Staff knew how to safeguard people and protect their well-being.
Staff supported people to live healthy lives. Meals were nutritionally balanced and met people’s dietary needs. People were encouraged to be mobile, where possible, and to take part in activities and socialise with others. People made progress at the service, for example by gaining weight, walking, and improving their mental health.
The provider’s culture was based on openness and respect. The nominated individual and registered manager were committed to providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. They valued people, relatives, and staff and listened to their views. Regular audits were used to ensure all areas of the service were running effectively.
