At this assessment the rating has remained Good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.

Staff had a strong understanding of individuals’ needs and treated each person with dignity and respect. Care plans clearly outlined what people could do independently and where they required support, reinforcing autonomy.
Staff encouraged people to carry out tasks for themselves wherever possible, supported by appropriate equipment to maintain safety. For example, one person said staff positioned mobility equipment appropriately, to enable them to get out of bed safely.
Staff also assisted a person to reorganise their living space, implementing these changes supported the person to create a more accessible and comfortable environment.
In another instance, staff explored all reasonable options to support a person’s wish to take part in an activity trip with a family member. Although the trip could not go ahead, the person and their family appreciated that staff made every effort to consider and pursue possible solutions.
