During an assessment under our new approach
Date of Assessment: 18 November 2025.
Dartmouth Medical Practice is a GP practice that delivers services to approximately 8,274 people, under a contract held with NHS England. The service is based in Dartmouth.
The National General Practice Profiles states that 96.4% of the practice population are white and 3.6% are Asian, Black, mixed or other. Information published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 8th decile (1 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. The service has a higher-than-average population of people aged 60 years and over. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.
This assessment was carried out following changes to the service’s registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in May 2025, due to a change in address of the location, and the last assessment having been conducted in April 2016 at the previous address.
During this assessment, we assessed all quality statements across the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led key questions.
