Our current view of the service

Outstanding

Updated 5 January 2026

Date of Assessment: 17 March to 16 April 2026. The service is a care at home service providing support to older and younger adults, people with sensory impairments, and people with physical disabilities. At the time of the assessment there were 13 people being supported by Pinnacle Care Professionals Ltd with 7 people receiving the regulated activity of personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. This was the first assessment of Pinnacle Care Professionals Ltd.

The registered manager was exceptionally capable and compassionate, and used their broad knowledge and experience to provide strong leadership for the staff team and led a positive, person focussed culture. They used person led initiatives to ensure people received tailored support from values led staff including providing staff with a pocket guide on best practice and guidance and a key ring of the organisational values. Robust, effective governance systems were in place which provided clear oversight of the service and provided assurance of good quality care and support. Quality assurance processes were established and helped maintain safe and consistent standards of care. There were enough staff to ensure people received their scheduled care visits at the agreed time, contingency plans were also in place to cover staff absence at short notice, and staff remained for the full allocated time which meant people received the care they required at the time it was needed. Care plans were detailed and of an exceptionally high standard containing clear person centred information and guidance to ensure staff supported people safely, effectively and in line with their wishes and individual preferences. Medicines were managed safely with the team providing effective support to ensure people had a supply of the medicines they needed and were supported with their medicines in line with their prescribers guidance and their needs and wishes. All incidents and accidents were robustly reviewed to identify learning from events and near misses and reduce future risk of harm to people. People were treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Both staff and the registered manager demonstrated a strong understanding of people’s needs and preferences and engaged with people with real warmth and compassion. The Mental Capacity Act (2005) was applied consistently, and people’s consent was routinely sought when being supported and their independence, choice and autonomy clearly upheld.

People's experience of the service

Updated 5 January 2026

People and relatives were overwhelmingly positive about the quality of their care and the support they received and felt they, or their loved one, were completely safe and were fully involved in planning their care. People said they received exceptionally high quality care from well trained and knowledgeable staff who treated them as individuals and they had confidence in. People described the care they received as ‘outstanding’ and truly benefitted from the caring relationships they had with staff built on trust. One person supported by Pinnacle Care Professionals told us, “The staff have made a difference, not just to myself, but to my whole family. The relationships that have been made between the staff and my family are very supportive which is reassuring to me.” People were effectively supported to access medical care, including on an emergency basis and support had been provided within a short time frame to ensure people were safe and received the medical intervention they needed to keep them safe and well. People told us about numerous examples where staff had gone the extra mile to support them. One relative told us that care staff had driven to their loved one’s house outside of their usual work hours to let the GP in and support and reassure the person. Everyone we spoke with outlined how staff treated them and relatives kindly, as individuals, and with respect. One relative told us, “It really is a personal service.” People felt able to complain and were confident action would be taken and improvements made. Where people had raised concerns, they told us these had been promptly addressed in line with their wishes and there had been no recurrence of the issue. People had consistency of care staff and knew staff and the registered manager well, which had allowed a trusting and caring relationship to develop which positively enhanced the care they received. They also said the service would accommodate last minute requested changes to support with people’s unplanned care needs which had proved invaluable when relatives were unable to travel to loved ones quickly in times of crisis.
