We found this practice was providing safe care in line with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance. The provider had made some improvements to put right the shortfalls and regulatory breach we found at our inspection on 18 March 2026. Although there are issues to be addressed, the impact of our concerns relates to the governance and the oversight of the risks, rather than a patient safety risk.

The provider had made the following improvements.

The management of fire safety reflected recognised guidance. Fire evacuation drills were carried out regularly. Records to confirm that checks of the operation and effectiveness of fire detection and suppression equipment, along with fire exits, were now in place. Staff were able to demonstrate how these processes were completed.

Processes were established to reduce the risk and spread of Legionella. Records confirmed that staff carried out regular monitoring checks of water temperature and dental unit water lines were flushed between patients.

The provider no longer dispensed medicines from the location.

The practice had also made further improvements:

Fridge temperatures were monitored and recorded in line with current guidance.

We identified scope for improvement in ensuring that all staff had completed fire awareness training. Training records indicated only one staff member had completed fire awareness training. Staff we spoke with confirmed they had never undertaken fire training.

Audits of infection prevention and control (IPC) were now carried out. We noted that these audits did not reflect our findings during this and previous inspections and that the template used no longer reflected current guidance.
