We carried out this unannounced on-site inspection on 10 September 2025.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
The practice systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control were not effective.
Staff did not always manage medicines and prescriptions in line with current guidance.
Recruitment procedures did not reflect current legislation.
A culture of effective leadership and continuous improvement was not established.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Night and Day Emergency Dentist is part of S M Rahman Limited, a dental group provider. The practice is in Netherfield in Nottinghamshire and provides emergency private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse who was also the practice manager, 1 receptionist and the provider’s compliance manager.
The provider was not complying with 1 regulation. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
