We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 22 July 2026. This was a second inspection carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced follow up on-site inspection of Night and Day Emergency Dentist on 18 March 2026. We had found the registered provider had made a number of improvements but was not providing well-led care and was in breach of regulation 17 Good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our most recent follow-up inspection, we found the practice had not met regulations and the provider was still in breach of Regulation 17.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Systems to ensure staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles were not established or effective.
Recruitment procedures did not reflect current legislation.
A culture of effective leadership and continuous improvement was not established.
Night and Day Emergency Dentist is part of S M Rahman Limited, a dental group provider. The practice is in Netherfield in Nottinghamshire and provides emergency private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. We spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dental nurse who was also the practice manager and the provider’s compliance manager.
The provider was not complying with 1 regulation. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection findings below.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
