During an inspection looking at part of the service

Some people living at the home had complex needs and required dementia care and we were not able to verbally communicate with them. Due to this we have used a formal way to observe people in this review to help us understand how their needs were supported. We call this the 'Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI).

People who we were able to communicate with told us that they were happy living at the home and that they were satisfied with the care they received. People said,

"the home and surroundings are great, but it's the staff that really make the home because they are all so happy and friendly," "it's a lovely home" and "we're very happy and contented here."

We spoke with one relative. They spoke very highly about the home and the care that was provided. They told us "I have nothing but praise for the home and the staff. Here it's homely and friendly and we could not have wished for anything better for our relative."

We spoke with Sheffield Local Authority, Contracting, Commissioning and Safeguarding

and they told us that they had not identified any concerns at the home.

During a routine inspection

Some people living at the home had complex needs and required dementia care and were not able to verbally communicate their views and experiences to us. Due to this we have used a formal way to observe people in this review to help us understand how their needs were supported. We call this the 'Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI).

People who we were able to communicate with told us that they were happy living at the home and that they were satisfied with the care they received. People said,

"I am quite happy here." "It's a nice place." "The staff are lovely here." "I'm happier now and I'm more settled."

We spoke with one relative who was visiting the home and they confirmed that they were satisfied with the care provided. They told us "I have no worries or concerns when I leave the home after visiting mum, which says we must be happy with the care here."

We spoke with Sheffield Local Authority Contracts and Commissioning Department. They said they have had no recent reports of concerns or dissatisfaction with the way the home was being run.
