All Inspections

9 October 2013

During a routine inspection

As part of our inspection we spoke with one person who used the service on the day of our visit. The person told us, "everything was professionally done, the staff explained everything to me. I have no complaints. I was very happy with everything." Patient feedback forms showed that most people rated their visit and their MRI examination as "excellent". Comments included, "fantastic service', "I could not have asked for better. Thank you.", "I was very nervous because I am claustrophobic, both of the staff were so helpful.'

Before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that ensured people's safety and welfare. The premises were safe, well maintained and suitable for its purpose. There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs.

There was an effective complaints system in place. Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with one person who used the service on the day of our visit. This person told us the health professionals were "very good" and described the quality of their care as "excellent." The person also told us, "I couldn't fault anything about today" when we asked them about their experience of using the service.

People using the service were routinely asked to provide feedback. We reviewed the feedback received for the period between October and December 2012 and this showed that most people were satisfied with their visit and their MRI examination.

The environment was clean and organised and we saw that people's privacy was protected.

There were effective systems in place to ensure that the diagnostic imaging service and equipment functioned safely. This included regular checks and servicing of the equipment. The staff were trained in life support and knew what to do in the event of a medical emergency. Staff members were qualified, had regular training and opportunities for professional development. We saw evidence that the quality of the service was effectively monitored and the provider sought feedback from patients.
