Date of assessment 16 to 31 July 2026. 21 Hartsworth Close is a supported living service for 4 people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and access to communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is a guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people which providers must adhere to.

At the time of our assessment there was 1 personreceiving the regulated activity of personal care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only regulate the service received by people with ‘personal care’. This was the provider’s first assessment since registering with the Care Quality Commissionin April 2023. We undertook a comprehensive assessment of thisservice, and we have rated this service as good overall.

People’s needs were comprehensively assessed and the support people received was person centred. People had capacity and were able to make decisions about their care. Care plans were well written and outlined in detail individual preferences of how people wanted to be supported.

Risks to people’s health, safety and wellbeing had been identified and appropriately assessed which ensured people received safe care and support. The provider understood their role in relation to safeguarding and staff were able to tell us about their responsibilities they undertook in keeping people safe.

There was a well-established staff team, many who had worked in the service since the service opened. There were no staff vacancies which meant that people were always supported by the same people, giving them the consistency they needed.

Feedback about the service we received was overwhelmingly positive and it was clear relationships between the people using the service; their families and the staff was built on trust.

Systems and processes for monitoring quality and safety of the service were robust. Checks were carried out by different levels of management which enabled good oversight and the ability to continuously monitor and improve the service.

The provider worked alongside other professionalswhenrequired. The provider had a good knowledge of local services and ensured people accessed health care services when they needed them.

This is the first assessment of this service, and we have rated it good overall.
