Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 6 May 2026

Date of assessment: 21 May 2026 to 3 June 2026. Caremark (Mansfield Ashfield) is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care and support to children, older and younger adults with a physical disability, people living with dementia, autistic people, people with a learning disability, people with sensory impairment and people living with mental health conditions. At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 123 people with their personal care needs. We undertook this assessment due to the length of time since the provider’s last inspection. Caremark (Mansfield Ashfield) was last rated good (published 19 June 2018).

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

The provider delivered care that was consistently person-centred, safe, and responsive to people’s individual needs. People were always treated as individuals, and staff demonstrated a strong commitment to going above and beyond to ensure people could access events and activities that were important to their health and wellbeing. This approach supported people to live fulfilling lives and remain connected to their communities.

Independence was actively promoted, with staff demonstrating a good understanding of how to support people to maintain and develop their skills and confidence. Care was tailored to each person, enabling them to retain as much choice and control as possible in their daily lives.

Care plans were developed in partnership with people, their loved ones, and relevant professionals where required. This ensured that care was holistic, accurate, and reflective of people’s preferences, needs, and goals. Plans were reviewed regularly to ensure they remained up to date and responsive to any changes.

Medicines were managed safely and effectively. People were supported to receive their medicines as prescribed, including those that needed to be administered at specific times. Systems were in place to ensure consistency and reduce the risk of errors.

The provider had clear and effective quality monitoring processes in place. Regular audits and checks were undertaken, and feedback was actively sought from both staff and people using the service. This information was used to drive continuous improvement and ensure care remained person-centred and safe. Where areas for improvement were identified, the management team implemented clear action plans and closely monitored progress to ensure improvements were achieved and sustained.
