During an assessment under our new approach
Altogether Care – Care at Home Limited Christchurch is a domiciliary care service providing a regulated activity of personal care. The service was providing care and support to people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this assessment, there were 191 people using the service. This was the first inspection of the key questions, caring and responsive since the service registered with CQC, therefore we included all the quality statements under the two key questions. The inspection took place between 28 May and 1 June 2025, we visited the office on 30 May 2025. This is a specialist service that is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the inspection, the service was not used by anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. However, we assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it is registered as a specialist service for this population group. Staff were kind and caring and new people well. The registered manager and staff encouraged a team approach to the development of the service. Staff told us they understood their roles and responsibilities and felt appreciated by the provider. Staff felt confident to speak up and knew the registered manager would take any concerns seriously. Staff told us they would be comfortable supporting people from any background and assisting them to access external services. The staff team was diverse, and efforts were made to ensure staff felt included. Staff understood the importance of promoting and supporting people to regain and maintain independence, enabling them to live well in their own home.
