This includes older or younger people, people living with dementia and physical disability diagnosis. At the time of our inspection there were 45 people using the service. The assessment included 2 on site visits, with other information and evidence reviewed remotely. The assessment was completed to provide a first Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating following first registration of the service with the CQC on 11 October 2024.
People’s care and support was planned and delivered to promote people’s safety and well-being. Staffing levels were sufficient to meet individual needs, and staff were recruited following thorough background checks to ensure safe care. All staff received appropriate training and supervision to support people effectively and safely. Medicines were administered by staff who were trained, and the environment was exceptionally clean and welcoming.
People were supported to exercise maximum choice and control over their lives. Staff worked in the least restrictive way possible, always acting in individuals’ best interests. The service’s policies and systems reinforced this approach.
Support was tailored to each person, respecting their dignity, privacy, communication needs, and human rights. Health conditions were monitored with input from relevant healthcare professionals, and referrals to external services were made promptly when needed. Staff interacted with people in a kind, respectful, and compassionate manner.
People were encouraged to participate in social activities they enjoyed and to engage with their community. This promoted a sense of belonging and improved people's overall well-being. Seasonal activities were arranged by the management team who invited people, staff, visiting families and local communities to participate and celebrate the season, creating enjoyable shared experiences for everyone involved.
The provider and registered manager maintained strong oversight of the service, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Systems were in place to monitor care quality and gather feedback on people’s experiences to drive ongoing development.
