Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 7 and 8 January 2026. The service provides homecare for people in one building.

This is the first inspection since registration on 28 February 2023

The service is registered for 36 people. There were 35 people using the service when we carried out the assessment, 17 of whom were receiving personal care.

During the assessment we spoke with people, their relatives, and care staff to get their feedback about the service, and regarding how people’s personal care needs were being met.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. The provider demonstrated they were meeting the principles of right support, right care, right culture. People were treated as individuals and able to make choices about their lives.

People received safe care and support that was safe and provided by professional, competent, and well-trained staff. The provider recruited staff appropriately who enabled people and supported them to take positive risks in a proactive, encouraging, manner that enhanced their quality of life. This also reduced their social isolation. Staff worked well as a team providing people with joined up, integrated care. This included involving external healthcare professionals. The provider enhanced people’s independence by giving them choices and promoting a holistic approach to care. This included having control over when they received it. The service recorded people’s consent to care, and treatment, and they were encouraged, and supported to maintain healthy diets. The provider monitored the support provided to encourage, and drive improved experiences, and outcomes for people. People, and their relatives told us the service was well managed, and the staff treated people with kindness, compassion, and as individuals, making sure they received equitable service experiences. The service was well led, with good governance, and effective monitoring systems.
