We found this practice was providing well led care in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance.

At the focused follow-up inspection on 16 February 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:

The practice had processes to identify and manage risks.

The basement fire escape route was clearly signed and unobstructed.

The most recent 5 yearly electrical installation condition report (ECIR) was carried out on 12 October 2025 and results were satisfactory.

Gas boiler servicing records were available.

A carbon monoxide detector was present near the boiler.

Evidence was available to confirm the fire alarm manual call point in the basement was included in the weekly fire alarm testing programme.

Evidence was available to confirm the emergency lights were tested monthly.

A paediatric oxygen mask with reservoir was available.

The emergency equipment check log included airway management equipment.

Portable suction was available.

The practice sharps risk assessment reflected current practice.

We saw evidence to confirm that safer sharps were used.

We noted 3 shortfalls that remained outstanding:

Hazardous substances were not stored in line with the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) regulations.

The emergency light in the basement was not included in the monthly testing and annual servicing programme.

Dispersible aspirin was not available.

We have since received evidence to confirm these have all now been addressed.

The practice had a recruitment policy and procedures that reflected relevant legislation, to help them employ suitable staff.

The practice had arrangements to ensure staff training, including continuing professional development, was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals.

At the focused follow-up inspection on 16 February 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:

The practice had infection control procedures that reflected published guidance.

Repairs had been made to rectify a damaged cupboard and a dusty exposed wall behind a loose section of worktop in the decontamination room.

The decontamination room had sufficient airflow.

The extractor fan was visibly clean.

The foot operated bin in the decontamination room functioned correctly.

Autoclave validation logs were routinely completed.

Decontamination room 'set up and close down' records were completed.

Staff manually scrubbed instruments. The cleaning agent to water dilution ratio was measured correctly.

The practice was in the process of making changes to water pipes in the practice and was aware that a new Legionella risk assessment was required to be carried out. We were assured this task was in hand.

We were told that returned lab work was disinfected before use.

Surgery 2 the covering on the patient treatment chair complete and impervious.

Surgery 6 windowsill was complete.

Surgery 2 and 4 worktop seals were complete.

Surgery 4 floor to skirting seal was complete.

Surgery 4 floor did not have any visible dirt and debris present.

Surgery 5 floor covering was complete.

Local anaesthetics were stored in individual protective blister packs in all surgeries.

Needle guards were seen in surgeries.

We noted 3 shortfalls that remained outstanding:

A metal wire brush was present in the decontamination room. Wire brushes are abrasive and can destroy the rust-resistant surface of stainless-steel instruments which makes their use go against national guidance.

Hot water tap temperature testing was not carried out.

We have since received evidence to confirm these have all now been addressed.
