Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 9 June 2025

Date of assessment: 9 June to 20 June 2025. The service is a care at home service providing support to adults living with a wide range of needs, this included complex physical needs. At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 14 people. This was the first assessment for this service since they registered on 30 March 2023. As such, we looked at all 5 key questions and assessed all quality statements under these. The provider had a significantly robust pre-assessment process, where people’s needs were thoroughly assessed before they began using the service. This included staff visiting hospital settings before the person was discharged to learn specific procedures from the hospital staff already delivering these. The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety, openness and transparency. Staff were given a non-judgemental opportunity to learn when things went wrong. The provider had good oversight of accidents and incidents to ensure matters of concern were dealt with quickly. Staff knew people well and provided person-centred care. Risks had been assessed and action taken to minimise these. People were involved in decision making and shaping their own care plans. Staff had access to appropriate training, including around medicine administration, to ensure their practice was safe. Staff were recruited safely in line with the provider’s policy. People’s care was regularly reviewed to ensure it remained relevant and individualised to them. There was robust leadership at the service, which both people and staff spoke positively about. Leaders were knowledgeable and supportive, and showed a proactive approach to ensure fair access to other services. Staff and managers worked well with external agencies to provide good quality care for people.
