We carried out an unannounced visit to May's House on 08 December 2025. This was the first assessment of this service since registering with CQC.
We found the service was operating as a children’s home, which is required to register with Ofsted. This meant it fell outside of CQC’s scope of registration and therefore regulated activities did not apply. In instances where CQC has begun a process of regulatory action, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded, if the action has been taken forward.
Prior to and following our visit, we shared information about the service with partner agencies and they were made aware that we were unable to rate the safety and quality of care provided to the children and young people living at May's House.
Our inspection team;
Two inspectors carried out the visit on 08 December 2025 and 03 February 2026. Analytic support was provided by a senior specialist.
