Date of assessment: 9 September 2025.
Manor Lodge is a residential care home that supports people aged 65 or over, some of whom have dementia care or mental health needs. It is registered to accommodate and support up to 16 people. At the time of the inspection, 16 people were living at the home. The service has 3 floors with adapted facilities and ensuite rooms.
This assessment was carried out by an inspector. We looked at 15 quality statements. We spoke with people who used the service, their relatives, and staff to seek their views about the service.
This was a planned assessment, and the report only covers our findings in relation to the key questions safe and well-led. For those key questions not inspected, we used the ratings awarded at the last inspection to calculate the overall rating.
The last rating for this service was requires improvement (published 26 November 2022). This assessment was carried out to follow up on actions we told the provider to take at the last inspection.
The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of this regulation. There was an effective system in place to monitor the quality of the service and identify shortfalls.
At our last inspection, we also recommended that the provider followed best practice guidance for adequate staffing levels for homes of this size to ensure people receive the support they need at all times. During this visit, we found there were enough staff to meet their care and support needs.
