Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 11 March 2025 to 25 March 2025. Olicana Healthcare Limited is an independent health service which delivers musculoskeletal medicine care to private fee-paying patients. This care is delivered to persons who are aged 18 years and above. Services include initial health needs assessment, diagnosis, advice on condition management, ultrasound imaging, and therapeutic injections including ultrasound guided injections. Some of the services delivered are not offered by the NHS. The service operates from 120 Main Street, Burley in Wharfedale, West Yorkshire, LS29 7JX. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to deliver diagnostic and screening procedures, and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. The service is operated by 3 directors who are all qualified clinicians, 2 of whom act as CQC registered managers for Olicana Healthcare Limited.

We saw patients and those working at the service were protected and kept safe. Facilities and equipment met the needs of patients, and were clean and well-maintained. The directors who delivered the clinical care at the service had the required skills, qualifications and experience, and we saw that they had received additional training which enabled them to deliver effective care. The service fully assessed need, and involved patients in discussions and decisions about their treatment. Care was based on latest evidence and good practice. If needed, the service worked with other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for patients. We heard that patients were treated with kindness and compassion. There was a culture of continuous improvement, and a drive to improve patient outcomes.

People's experience of this service

Whilst the service had only recently been established and had consequently only dealt with a relatively limited number of patients. We saw that the provider had undertaken a recent patient survey. This showed high levels of patient satisfaction. For example, all 10 respondents fedback that they had been treated with dignity and respect, and that they had been provided with clear information about their condition and treatment options. A respondent using our CQC Give Feedback on Care form told us that they had received good care and treatment from the service, which included aftercare and consistent communication, and that they had been treated with consideration.
