The Cliffs Chiropractic Clinic is owned by Mr Arif Omar Josef Soomro, who is also the registered manager of the clinic. The service opened in 1994 and is run as a private clinic in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. We inspected this service on 12/02/2026. This inspection was carried out as a scheduled, unannounced inspection.

The diagnostic imaging service is provided within a private chiropractic clinic. The clinic consists of three treatment rooms in a purposefully adapted house, an open plan reception and waiting area with changing room cubicles. The service has an x-ray facility with computed radiography (CR), which is the digital replacement of conventional x-ray film. X-rays are taken in a dual use treatment room.

Patients self-refer to the service and the service covers Southend-on-Sea, Westcliff-on-Sea and surrounding areas. The service sees patients from newborn to 90 years old. The radiology service operated on Monday mornings and Wednesday evenings. The standard hours radiographers work are Monday mornings, Wednesday evenings and other times are undertaken by appointment.

The service was registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide diagnostic and screening procedures. Our inspection team noted that diagnostic imaging was offered by the service to support its primary function of chiropractic medicine.

The chiropractic medicine aspect of the service was not inspected, as it is not regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

We found staff provided kind and compassionate care and patients were positive about their experiences.

We found the service had safe systems in place and the service maintained equipment regularly.

In the previous inspection we found the service had no safeguarding lead. The service now has a safeguarding lead and staff are trained on safeguarding so this has improved.

However, we found the service had some out of date staff training and most of the policies were out of
date. We found this in the previous inspection and so this had not improved.

In the previous inspection we found the service had no strategy or vision policy. We did not find this in
this inspection and so this has not improved.

We have provided the service with an action plan to improve these areas.
