Good

Updated 14 March 2025

Date of assessment 18 March to 31 March 2025.

This assessment was carried out as the service was unrated and required rating. Carepoint Services Ltd (Prescott House) is a homecare service providing personal care to an extra care scheme where people lived independently in their own flats. There were 24 flats in a purpose built building. At the time of this assessment, 10 people were receiving a regulated activity.

The provider did not always have clear systems of accountability or good governance. There had not always been effective systems or processes in place to identify learning. The provider and leaders had been open to feedback and taken immediate actions to make service improvements.

Despite these shortfalls, people had not been at risk of avoidable harm because leaders and staff knew them well. The service provided safe, kind and compassionate care. The service worked within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and people were supported to have choice and control over their lives. Partners shared positive feedback about staff and leaders. A registered manager was in place who knew the service, people and staff well. There was an open and transparent culture at the service and staff spoke positively about working there. Staff were trained and supported in their roles.

People's experience of the service

Updated 14 March 2025

People told us they felt safe with staff. They told us staff were kind and caring and listened to them. One person said, “I have absolutely no complaints about them [staff] at all. They all communicate with me.” People had access to the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it. They told us they had choice and control over their lives. People were given opportunities to feedback, and all felt comfortable in raising any concerns they had. They were confident these would be dealt with appropriately.
