During a routine inspection

We spoke with a range of people about the service, we did this to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced. People we spoke to included the registered provider, centre manager, staff members and people currently resident at the centre.

The people using the service told us they were given helpful information when they arrived at the service so that they could make informed choices about the support they needed. One person said they were given "Information that was easy to understand". All of the people we spoke to who used the service told us that the programme was fully explained to them and they understood exactly what it would involve.

The provider had taken steps to provide care and support in an environment that was suitably and adequately maintained.

The people we spoke with said that staff were always available if they had any concerns or worries. People told us they were given the opportunity to tell their key worker how they were feeling and to raise any issues about their treatment and the running of the service.

There were systems in place to handle complaints and people told us they would feel confident about raising concerns. There was information made available to people about how to complain, and people were encouraged to comment on the service.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with a range of people about the service, we did this to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced. People we spoke to included the registered provider, centre manager, staff members and people currently resident at the centre.

The service is a residential recovery centre which provides accommodation for people recovering from substance misuse. We observed staff assisting people who required attention and support sat in on a group session, and spent time in communal areas.

We observed staff treated people with respect and ensured their privacy while supporting them. They provided support or attention as people requested it.

We spoke with four people about the care and support they received. They said they were happy living at the centre and said that staff where always polite, kind and attentive to their needs.
