Updated 13 January 2026
Date of assessment: 21 and 22 January 2026. The service is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for older people and people living with dementia. The service can support 37 people across 2 floors. There were 35 people living in the service at the time of inspection.
This inspection was prompted in part by concerns received by CQC about potential poor care and neglect, which included malnourishment and dehydration. We did not find any specific concerns in these areas and found that people were generally well cared for, their needs were met, and people and their relatives were happy with the care and support they received.
This was a focused inspection which meant we assessed the key questions safe and well-led only.
We found some minor areas for improvement however we found no impact on people’s health and care. These included how records were documented and updated, and oversight of the quality and accuracy of record keeping.
People were kept safe from harm by detailed guidance for staff around their individual risks. Safeguarding processes were in place and adhered to. The premises required some updating but plans were in place to make some changes. The service was clean, odour free and the premises were well maintained. There were enough staff to provide the care people needed and had been assessed for and staff had received training and supervision to develop their skills to provide safe and responsive care. Medicines were generally managed well. Some minor concerns were rectified during the inspection visits or shortly after. Safe processes were in place to make sure new staff were suitable to provide care to people.
Staff felt they were well supported and spoke highly of the registered manager and felt able to approach them if they had concerns. Processes were in place so people could speak up if they had a complaint. Complaints were investigated and responded to. Meetings were held with people, relatives and staff so they could share their views and be updated.
