All Inspections

22 January 2014

During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with five people who use the service as well as two relatives. We also spoke with eight members of staff including the director, registered manager, supervisor, three care workers, co-ordinator and a training/recruitment co-ordinator. We looked at surveys and records to help us understand the views of the people who use the service.

One person who uses the service told us 'I am very satisfied with the care I receive, they are good staff'. Another person told us 'I find the carers polite and respectful, all is good'.

A relative of someone who uses the service told us 'everything is fine, my wife likes to see the carers and have a laugh and a joke with them and the office staff are very good'.

Staff we spoke with felt they all worked well together as a team and enjoyed working at Carewatch. One member of staff told us 'I enjoy working here, we all do our job to the best that we can'. Another member of staff told us 'we have great training and I feel supported in my role'.

We also looked a care plans, risk assessments, staff records and policies and procedures.

29 November 2012

During a routine inspection

We looked at supporting care documentation and staff documentation; we spoke with the registered manager who is referred to as manager in the report, the training manager, the coordinator, a field supervisor, three care workers, and four people who used the service.

This told us that before people had received any care or treatment they had been asked for their consent and the agency's staff had acted in accordance with their wishes. People or their representatives had been involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

People's care needs had been assessed and reviewed, and care and treatment had been planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan.

People's care had been provided by care workers who understood their care needs and who had been provided with training and support. Comments received included, 'I am quite satisfied,' 'My care needs are basic, simple and all that is required is provided,' 'I am always asked and they do anything I want them to,' and 'I am happy with the service.'

Robust recruitment practices had been followed. Appropriate identity and security checks had been completed as part of the recruitment process.

The records needed for the management of the agency had been maintained and were accurate and complete.

23 March 2012

During a routine inspection

People who use the service had completed survey forms sent out by the provider in December 2011, and those that completed these informed us that 23.1% of people receiving a service were totally satisfied with the service that they received, 49.3% were very satisfied and 26.9% were reasonably satisfied.

We spoke to four people receiving a service, who all told us that they were happy with the care provided and had been involved in the drawing up of their care plan and ongoing reviews of the care provided.
