During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with one person who used the service and reviewed a selection of recent comment cards. Feedback on the service included:

'I'd give the service 10/10. It was my first visit but I'd definitely come again and recommend it to my friends.'

'The support is wonderful and everyone is so friendly.'

'I received superb advice with no judgement.'

'I'm very happy with the service I've received over the past few years.'

'A good and caring experience. I've not just got sexual advice but care and attention to thinking about the wider range of my life.'

'Speedy and reliably referral to NHS clinics for the right treatment.'

'Wonderful staff ' patient and kind.'

Care and treatment at the Brook Liverpool was treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment and people who use the service, staff and visitors were protected against the risks of unsafe or unsuitable premises. There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs and the provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.

During a routine inspection

During our visit we spoke with five people who used the service who said they were provided with useful information and received full explanations and advice on their care and treatment at Brook Liverpool. They said they felt involved in the discussions and decisions made around their care and treatment. They told us staff were friendly and helpful and said they had no concerns about the service.

During our visit we found that people were treated respectfully and were very happy with the care and treatment they received. Comments included:

'I trust the staff here'.

'They're so friendly. I wouldn't feel as comfortable at my GP's'.

'It's confidential and they don't make you feel embarrassed'.

We saw that arrangements were in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies including appropriate staff training and the provision of items for use in an emergency. People were treated by staff who were appropriately recruited, well trained and experienced at supporting them.

In this report the name of a Registered Manager appears who was not managing the regulatory activities at this location at the time of the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time.

During a routine inspection

We interviewed a number of people that used the service on the day of our visit. We were told that they felt well supported to make decisions about their treatment. Confidentiality was important to them and we were told they felt staff treated them in a confidential manner and their wishes had been respected.
