WholeheartedHomeCareis a care at home service providing support to11older andyounger adultssome of whom wereliving with dementia.There was positive feedback about theregistered manager and the running of the service.There were systems in place to improve people’s lives and experiences, andthe registered managerwasmotivated to ensure people were happy and well cared for. They were well supported by apositivestaff team.

Medicines management systems were in place and managed well.Checks were in place to help ensure records were clear andaccurate.

Staff knew how to recognise and report any concerns relating to abuse. Information wasavailableand safeguarding concerns were reported appropriately.

Infection preventionandcontrol was practiced. Therewere health and safety assessments onpeople’s livingenvironmentto help ensure it wasclean andsafe.

The management team spent timechecking on staff practiceproviding support and guidance. People,relativesand staff were positive about their presence,guidanceand approach.

People,relativesand staff had opportunities for sharing their views. People’s choices weresought, and they were supportedin accordance withtheir wishes and needs. Relatives were involved with people’s care planning and reviews.

Some people were supported with eating and drinking.People hadappropriate accessto support services.

There were enough staff to meet people’s needs, carry out visits on time and for the planned duration.Staff were positive about the service they provided, the management team and liked workingfor Wholehearted Home Care.

We spoke with 2 people and received feedback from 5 relatives.

People were happy using the service and told us staff supported them well. They told us staff and management were kind and helpful. People said they felt safe.

People and relatives told us staff knew people well. Care plans had been developed with people involved and these included all relevant information to ensure care was safe and person centred. People’s care needs were met in a way they liked.Care was person centred and provided n a way that promoted independence and well being. People were supported appropriately and in accordance with their wishes to enable them to stay in their own homes.
