Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 18 June 2026. Crystal Clear Ear Clinic is an independent nurse-led healthcare service providing private ear treatments including ear microsuction and irrigation. It is a clinic owned and operated by a lone practitioner, with one additional member of staff recently employed. This was the first inspection of the provider since it registered with CQC.
The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Incidents were investigated thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. The provider understood and managed risks. The facilities and equipment met the needs of people, were clean and well maintained, and any risks were mitigated. The provider had completed all relevant training to ensure they maintained high-quality care for the services provided.
People were involved in assessments of their needs. The provider carried out detailed assessments taking account of people’s communication, personal and health needs. Care was based on the latest evidence and good practice. The provider was proactive in communicating with other providers involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving between services. The provider made sure people understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent.
People were treated with kindness and compassion. The provider protected the patient’s privacy and dignity. They treated them as individuals and supported their preferences. People had choices in their care and treatment.
People were involved in decisions about their care. The provider gave people information they could understand. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the provider took it seriously and acted on it. People received fair and equal care and treatment. The provider worked to reduce health and care inequalities through training and feedback. People were involved in planning their care and understood options such as whether to be seen at home or at the clinic.
The provider’s vision and culture were based on listening, learning and trust. The provider worked with the local community to deliver the best possible care and were receptive to new ideas. There was a culture of continuous improvement.
People's experience of this service
People described very positive experiences of the provider. They described the practitioners as friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Large volumes of positive feedback had been received with patients frequently describing the professionalism and kindness of the provider. In the last 12 months the provider had received 125 patient survey responses, all of which were positive. Prior to the inspection we also received 19 positive patient feedback comments to the CQC.
